ADD A BEAUTIFUL FITTED POT (OPTIONAL)

We love the bold shape and rich green foliage of the Swiss Cheese Plant. Monstera deliciosa is a classic for a reason – huge, dramatic leaves that split and perforate as the plant matures, full of rainforest character and sculptural presence.
Our mature Monsteras are slow-grown and large, making them a special find. These aren’t baby plants – they’re ready to climb, drape or anchor a corner of your home. We supply each one with a moss pole to support its natural growing habit.
Buying it as a gift? Add a message at checkout and we’ll include a free handwritten card. We don’t include any paperwork with prices, so it arrives as a lovely surprise.
Native habitat and growth pattern
Monstera deliciosa is native to the rainforests of Central America, where it climbs up trees using aerial roots to reach light. Indoors, it thrives when given vertical support and bright indirect light, growing steadily and producing its iconic split leaves over time.

Swiss Cheese Monstera care guide
Light requirements:
Best in bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some shade but may grow slowly and produce fewer splits.
Watering:
Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. Water thoroughly and allow to drain. Avoid letting it sit in soggy soil.
Feeding:
Feed once a month during spring and summer. Try our vegan, organic Original Plant Food – exclusive to Happy Houseplants.
Humidity:
Appreciates humidity but will adapt to normal home conditions. Misting or placing near a humidifier can encourage larger leaves.
Pet safety:
Toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets.
Propagation:
Easily propagated from stem cuttings with a node. Root in water or moist soil.

FAQs
Will this Monstera develop holes in its leaves?
Yes, with good light and care it will develop natural splits and holes as it matures.
Does it need a moss pole?
It will grow happily without one, but a moss pole supports its natural climbing habit and encourages larger, split leaves.
Is it suitable for low light?
It will survive but not thrive. For best results, place it somewhere with bright, indirect light.
