5 Things to Consider Before Buying a New Houseplant?

if you are new to houseplants or want to gift Houseplants to a friend, here are five things to keep in mind, from Pets to humidity when welcoming home new plants into a home:

  • Plants and Children: Check your plant is pet safe and if you have children avoid heavy or spiky plants, like Cactus.
  • Before you start shopping, think about where the plant might live. If you have a sunny living room or a low-light bathroom, let the amount of sunlight in each room guide your plant picks.
  • Humidity matters to plants, tropicals don't like central heating, but succulents and Cactus will enjoy the warmth. Misty bathrooms are ideal for Ferns and Orchids.
  • Busy life? Maybe avoid the fussy specialist plants or fast growers and stick with something easy-care and resilient if you miss the odd watering. You will be a happier plant parent.
  • Be kind to yourself, plants not only look beautiful but can help support your mental health.
