We love the compact, vibrant foliage of the Syngonium Pixie. With its lush, arrow-shaped leaves in shades of fresh green and creamy white, this little plant brings a burst of rainforest energy into any room. It looks exotic and luxurious, yet it’s one of the easiest indoor plants to grow, making it a brilliant choice for beginners and seasoned collectors alike.

Buying it as a gift? We’ll include a free handwritten card — just add your message at checkout. We’ll wrap it with care and leave out the paperwork or price tags, creating a lovely surprise for the recipient.

Native habitat and growth pattern
Syngonium Pixie originates from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, where it grows as a climbing or trailing vine under the canopy. In the wild, it uses aerial roots to scramble up trees. Indoors, its compact size and slow-growing nature make it perfect for smaller spaces.

Size
W7cm nursery pot, approximately 15cm tall. Supplied in a plastic nursery pot.

Styling tips

  • Great for desks, bookshelves, or coffee tables where space is limited

  • Adds a touch of tropical greenery to kitchens and bathrooms

  • Works well in plant groupings with other small foliage plants

  • Ideal starter plant for apartments or low-light rooms

Syngonium Pixie care guide

Light requirements:
Thrives in bright, indirect light but will also tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid harsh midday sun which can scorch its leaves.

Watering:
Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. Allow excess water to drain and never let it sit in soggy compost.

Feeding:
Feed once a month in spring and summer. We recommend our vegan, organic Original Plant Food, specially designed to support strong root and leaf growth.

Humidity:
Enjoys normal household humidity but appreciates occasional misting, especially in warmer months.

Pet safety:
Toxic if ingested — keep out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children.

Propagation:
Easily propagated from stem cuttings placed in water or directly into soil.

Why choose this plant?

The Syngonium Pixie is one of the most rewarding small houseplants you can grow. Compact and versatile, it fits perfectly into modern living — whether you live in a small flat, a cosy cottage, or a spacious home, it won’t take up much room but will still make a big visual impact. Its vibrant green leaves patterned with creamy-white variegation brighten shady corners and instantly lift a space, making it ideal for rooms that don’t get much direct sunlight.

This is also one of the easiest houseplants to care for, making it a brilliant choice for first-time plant parents or anyone who wants beautiful greenery without too much fuss. Originating from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, it brings an authentic jungle vibe into your home, adapting beautifully to indoor conditions while retaining its lush, exotic look.

Syngonium Pixie also makes a thoughtful, stylish gift. With its fresh, uplifting foliage and easy-going nature, it’s a plant that brings joy to beginners and experienced plant lovers alike. Whether you’re gifting it for a birthday, housewarming, or just because, it’s sure to be appreciated.

FAQs

How big does Syngonium Pixie grow indoors?
It stays compact compared to other Syngonium varieties, usually reaching around 20–30cm tall.

Why are the leaves on my Syngonium Pixie turning yellow?
This is often caused by overwatering. Allow the top of the soil to dry before watering again.

Can I grow my Syngonium Pixie in the bathroom?
Yes, it will love the extra humidity and is well suited to kitchens and bathrooms.

Does Syngonium Pixie climb or trail?
In the wild it climbs, but indoors it usually remains bushy and compact. With age, it may develop longer stems that can be staked or allowed to trail.

Happy Houseplants delivers live houseplants across the UK with fast, carbon-neutral tracked service.

At Happy Houseplants, we ship all live plants via DPD’s 24-hour tracked carbon-neutral service. Delivery usually takes 7–10 working days, but in most cases your plants will arrive much sooner. You can read more about delivery here.

We post to most of the UK, but we’re unable to deliver to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles and the Channel Islands because of higher shipping costs.

When we list a plant’s height, it always includes the grow pot, stem, foliage and living root system — not just what you see above the soil. Because every plant is unique, yours may arrive a little smaller or larger than the size listed.
