We are slow on new plants this week, it's been a crazy few days with orders, lockdown, homeschooling and Brexit. We will be back to normal next week. As we all rush to replace the Christmas Tree here are five things to keep in mind, from Pets to humidity when welcoming home new plant babies into your home:
Pets and Children: Check your plant is pet safe and if you have children avoid heavy or spiky plants, like Cactus.
Before you start shopping, think about where the plant might live. If you have a sunny living room or a low-light bathroom, let the amount of sunlight in each room guide your plant picks.
Humidity matters to plants, tropicals don't like central heating, but succulents and Cactus will enjoy the warmth. Misty bathrooms are ideal for Ferns and Orchids.
Busy life? Maybe avoid the fussy specialist plants or fast growers and stick with something easy-care and resilient if you miss the odd watering. You will be a happier plant parent.
Be kind to yourself, plants not only look beautiful but can help support your mental health.
