Ludisia discolor are terrestrial orchids, they are found growing on the forest floor. Prized for its foliage, rather than its flowers, the leaves are velvety deep maroon with red veins that run parallel to the centre of the leaf.
The small flowers are white with twisting yellow columns and grow on upright stalks, the flowers last a month or more.
