This is a tropical climbing plant, related to Monstera but part of the Amydrium genus, and it will happily trail or climb with a bit of encouragement. The foliage starts out compact and gradually develops intricate fenestrations and shimmer as it matures. This particular form—Medium Silver—is prized for its unusually pale, silvery colouring, especially under the right lighting conditions.
Plant size: Grown in a 10cm nursery pot, approx. 20cm tall.
Native habitat and growth patterns: Native to Southeast Asia, Amydrium grows as a hemiepiphyte, scrambling through humid rainforests and clinging to tree trunks. In the wild, it uses aerial roots to anchor itself as it reaches for dappled light.
