Streptocarpus Pretty Turtle is a delightful flowering plant that is native to the eastern regions of South Africa, where it grows in the wild in shaded areas, such as forests and streambanks. It is a member of the Gesneriaceae family and is also known as Cape Primrose or False African Violet.

The focus of Streptocarpus Pretty Turtle is the beautiful leaves, with a pattern of green and silver veins that resembles a turtle's shell. This pattern, combined with the plant's compact growth habit, makes it an eye-catching addition to any indoor garden.

The delicate flowers of Streptocarpus Pretty Turtle are borne on long stems that rise above the foliage. The blooms are trumpet-shaped and come in shades of lavender, with dark purple veins and a yellow throat. The flowers, with teh proper care, are abundant, bringing a splash of colour to any room.

Streptocarpus plants are known for their adaptability and hardiness. They can thrive in various indoor environments, and wide varieties will continue to bloom for months. This makes them an ideal choice for the beginner or someone with more experience.

Streptocarpus plants are also easy to propagate, which makes them a popular choice for plant enthusiasts who want to grow their collection. They can be propagated from leaf cuttings or offsets, and once established, they will continue to bloom year after year.

Streptocarpus Pretty Turtle is an easy-to-grow plant that prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil. It can be grown in various indoor environments, including homes, offices, and greenhouses. With proper care, this plant will reward you with its charming blooms and unique foliage year after year.

Where should this plant go?

This plant likes bright, indirect light, a few hours of the morning sun is perfect.

How much should I water it?

Keep the soil moist (never soggy) at all times. For extra humidity, sit your pot on a tray of pebbles filled with water. We do not recommend spraying a Streptocarpus Pretty Turtle.

They recover very well from dehydration, and this is one of the traits of the species but doesn't do well if overwatered,
