ADD A BEAUTIFUL FITTED POT (OPTIONAL)

Looking for a sculptural houseplant with real character? The Medium Adenium Obese Sculpture – commonly known as the Desert Rose or Impala Lily – is a beautifully shaped succulent, hand-selected for its thick trunk, elegant form, and bonsai-like growth habit.
These impressive plants are grown slowly over time to develop their distinctive shape. Some are already leafing out, while others are just waking up after winter dormancy – a completely natural cycle. With warmth, sunlight, and patience, they’ll soon burst into life and may even bloom during the summer months.
Plant Size
• Pot diameter: 17cm

Where Desert Rose Comes From
The Desert Rose (Also known as: Impala Lily, Mock Azalea, Adenium Bonsai) is native to the dry, rocky landscapes of sub-Saharan Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. In its natural habitat, it thrives in full sun and stores water in its thick, swollen base (known as a caudex). It’s a slow grower, but well worth the wait.
Desert Rose as a Sculptural Indoor Plant
This medium-sized Adenium is ideal for those who want a bold yet manageable statement plant. It looks stunning in terracotta or matte ceramic pots and works beautifully in modern, minimalist, boho or Japandi interiors. Place it where it can get plenty of light and be admired for its form.
Adenium Obese Sculpture Care Guide
• Light: Needs full sun – place in the brightest spot you have
• Water: Let the soil dry out completely before watering again
• Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix
• Temperature: Keep above 10°C at all times
• Feeding: During the growing season, feed monthly with our Organic Tropical Plant Food – gentle, vegan, and exclusive to Happy Houseplants
Are Desert Rose Indoor or Outdoor Plants?
Desert Rose is best kept indoors in the UK. You can move it outside during warm, dry summer spells – just ensure nights stay above 15°C, and always bring it in before cooler weather returns.

Happy Houseplants delivers live houseplants across the UK with fast, carbon-neutral tracked service.
At Happy Houseplants, we ship all live plants via DPD’s 24-hour tracked carbon-neutral service. Delivery usually takes 7–10 working days, but in most cases your plants will arrive much sooner. You can read more about delivery here.
We post to most of the UK, but we’re unable to deliver to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles and the Channel Islands because of higher shipping costs.
When we list a plant’s height, it always includes the grow pot, stem, foliage and living root system — not just what you see above the soil. Because every plant is unique, yours may arrive a little smaller or larger than the size listed.
