Looking for something compact but eye-catching? Crassula 'Garnet Lotus' is a beautifully structured succulent with rosettes that flush deep red when grown in bright light. It’s a striking hybrid in the Crassula family – sculptural, geometric, and ideal for smaller spaces that need a bold accent.
This rare variety forms tight, lotus-like clusters of stacked leaves in deep green to rich garnet, depending on light levels. Each plant is unique, and colours may vary slightly depending on the season and light exposure. At only 14cm tall, it’s perfect for shelves, desktops, and sunny windowsills.

Where Garnet Lotus Comes From
Crassulas are native to Southern Africa, and this hybrid is bred for its compact form and colour-changing foliage. Like most Crassulas, it thrives in dry, rocky environments with high light and well-draining soil.
Styling Your Garnet Lotus Succulent
This succulent looks amazing in a small, shallow ceramic or terracotta pot – perfect for grouping with other Crassulas or Echeverias. It adds a splash of colour to windowsills, desktops, or shelves, and thrives in minimalist, modern, or desert-inspired styling.
Crassula 'Garnet Lotus' Care Guide
• Light: Bright light to full sun brings out its red tones
• Water: Water sparingly – only when the soil is completely dry
• Soil: Free-draining cactus or succulent mix
• Temperature: Keep above 10°C
• Feeding: Feed in spring/summer with a diluted cactus fertiliser or our Organic Tropical Plant Food (used sparingly)
Indoor or Outdoor?

Garnet Lotus FAQs
Why isn’t mine red?
The intensity of the red colour depends on sunlight. More sun = deeper red. In lower light, it may stay greener, but still beautiful.
Can I grow this with other succulents?
Absolutely – it’s perfect for succulent bowls, troughs, and mixed arrangements with Echeveria, Sedum, and Aloe.
How fast does it grow?
It’s a slow grower – part of the appeal. Expect gradual changes and new offsets over time.
