Ficus Elastica Cloe in Clint Pot with Saucer

The Ficus Elastica Cloe in Clint Pot is a wonderfully warm, characterful plant and pot pairing. The broad glossy leaves of this classic Rubber Plant sit beautifully against the soft glazed ceramic, creating a statement that feels fresh, elegant and far more interesting than a standard green plant in a plain pot.

At around 65cm tall, Ficus Elastica Cloe has enough height to make an impression without taking over the room. Its rounder leaves give it a fuller, softer look than many Rubber Plant varieties, while the Clint pot brings warmth and a gentle touch of colour to the overall display.

The pairing works because the deep green foliage keeps the pink feeling calm and grown up. It is soft but not overly sweet, classic but not old fashioned. The traditional tapered shape of the Clint pot and its matching saucer give the whole combination a lovely timeless feel.

This is a beautiful choice for a birthday, a new home, a thank you or simply to bring a little more colour and greenery into someone’s space. It is a lasting gift that feels personal, decorative and easy to enjoy.

Every Ficus Elastica Cloe is naturally individual, with variation in leaf size, shape, branching and overall fullness. The glaze of the Clint pot also has subtle variations that add to its character.

Native habitat and growth pattern
Ficus Elastica is native to tropical parts of Asia, where it grows into a large tree in warm, humid forest conditions. In the home, it stays much more manageable in a pot but still grows with the same quiet confidence, gradually producing new leaves from the tips of its stems.

Cloe has a slightly rounder leaf shape than many other Rubber Plants. The leaves are thick, smooth and naturally glossy, held on sturdy upright stems that give the plant a lovely balanced shape.

New leaves emerge tightly wrapped before gradually unfurling into their final glossy form. Over time, the plant will become taller and fuller, but it is not a frantic grower. It has a steady, reassuring rhythm that makes it a very easy plant to live with.

Styling at home
This pairing is perfect for adding warmth to a room without using lots of bright colour. The soft pink pot looks beautiful against pale walls, natural wood, linen, stone and warmer neutral interiors, while the dark green leaves bring contrast and structure.

It works especially well in a living room beside a sofa or armchair, on a low cabinet, in a bedroom or as a feature in a bright home office. The classic shape of the Clint pot also suits period homes and more traditional interiors, but the fresh pink glaze means it can soften a modern room beautifully too.

The matching saucer makes the pot feel more complete, while also helping to catch excess water. It is a small detail, but one that makes the whole plant and pot combination feel more considered.

Care requirements

Light: Ficus Elastica Cloe prefers bright, indirect light. It can enjoy a little gentle morning or evening sun, but avoid prolonged harsh direct sunshine.

Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain away. Rubber Plants do not like sitting in wet compost.

Humidity: Happy in average household humidity. Wiping the leaves occasionally with a soft damp cloth will keep them glossy and allow the plant to make the most of available light.

Temperature: Keep in a warm room between 18°C and 26°C, away from cold draughts and sudden changes in temperature.

Feeding: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a houseplant food to support healthy new growth and glossy foliage.

Ficus Elastica Cloe likes consistency more than fuss. Find it a good bright position, avoid overwatering and let it settle. It will gradually become one of those reliable plants that always makes a room look better.

Why choose this plant
The Ficus Elastica Cloe in Clint Pot is a lovely choice if you want a classic houseplant with a little more warmth and personality. The rounder glossy leaves give the plant a gentle, full shape, while the pink ceramic pot makes it feel much more special than a standard nursery plant.

It is also a very good all round gift. The Rubber Plant is reliable and easy going, while the Clint pot with saucer is practical as well as decorative. Together, they create something that looks beautiful from day one but will continue to grow and settle into a home over time.

This is not a one moment gift. It is a proper piece for the home, bringing colour, structure and greenery into a room for years to come.
