The Kentia Palm is an excellent palm for inside because it's hardy to the humidity indoors, slow-growing and looks amazing. The Kentia Palm is a popular houseplant because it has the classical tropical palm appearance: pinnate leaves and arching and drooping leaflets. It creates an instant jungle look and its narrow leaves let through dappled sunlight, creating a wonderful shadow in most rooms.

They are expensive because like most palms they are slow-growing: it takes six to seven years to get a beautiful showpiece plant like ours. In fact, if you have ever ventured through the world-famous palm house at Kew Gardens you would have seen the space you can create with several varieties of palms.

Our tip for the Kentia Palm is to go big! They look wonderful when established and well worth the extra cost. Like most houseplants, it will thrive if you treat it a little bit mean. Water sparingly and give it some space to grow and you will be rewarded with a wonderful specimen plant.

Planting has never looked so striking with our Tembesi collection of planters. Handcrafted from aluminium and finished in a black hue, the collection is ideal for house plants, cacti and succulents. The etched detailing on the exterior is all made by hand and gives this eye-catching collection a real point of difference.

We sell a variety of Palms including Kentia and Areca and source the best value for money.
