ADD A BEAUTIFUL FITTED POT (OPTIONAL)
Opuntia rufida is a species of prickly pear cactus known by the scary common name blind prickly pear! It is native to Texas and adjacent Mexico, where it grows on limestone.
The species makes up for its total lack of spines with a profusion of red-brown glochids which it sheds with abandon and is a menace to any gardener. Whether it's true or not the glochids have the reputation of detaching and flying on the wind and can blind cattle.
Low-maintenance and an excellent choice for anyone new to growing houseplants. This plant will thrive as long as its water only when it's completely dry and kept in a warm and sunny spot.
