Oxalis Triangularis or Purple Shamrock

Commonly called the 'purple shamrock' the rare and sought-after Oxalis Triangularisis low maintenance and beautifully decorative house plant with vivid purple leaves and bell-shaped flowers. Oxalis triangularis close their blooms and their leaves at night, then open wide to the morning light. 

How do you take care of an Oxalis Triangularisis or Purple Shamrock?
This plant is easy to care for, suitable for beginners. Keep your Oxalis Triangularis in a filtered bright to medium light but away from direct light. It is fairly hard to burn since Oxalis grows outdoors, the glass in your windows will filter out a lot of the intensity of the light, however, it will grow best when it’s away from direct sunlight.

Where should I put Oxalis Triagularis?
This wonderful houseplant loves high or direct light - lots of light is needed.

How much should I water it?
As usual with tropical plants, water only when the top couple of inches of the soil is dry, don’t let it sit in water. Use a pot with a drainage hole and Well-drained potting mix, use a standard Premium indoor potting mix.

Should I feed Oxalis Triagularis?
You can feed once a month during spring and summer - we do vegan, organic plant food!

Is it suitable if I have pets?
No, unfortunately, it can be toxic to pets.
