We love the large, dark green leaves and wild style the large Tetrastigma voinierianum or chestnut vine brings to a room! It’s lovely to have a big vine in a room - it really gives the tropical feeling of the rainforest - and this large houseplant is no exception to that! An extremely fast grower, this vine will soon cover an entire wall if you let it!
Coming from Laos, in its natural environment, it grows vigorously on trees, covering them in no time at all!
It features large, verdant leaves which are slightly fuzzy and have little bumps on the underside. Its common name is Chestnut Vine because the leaves resemble Chestnut tree leaves!
This vine would make a great houseplant gift - we can make it extra special by including a free, handwritten card. Just leave your gift message at the basket stage of the checkout and we’ll do the rest! No paperwork to spoil the surprise!
This vine is really easy to care for - the only problem is limiting its growth!
Where should I put it?
It works best in a very humid environment - so a steamy kitchen or bathroom is a really great place for this.
How much should I water it?
Tetrastigma needs to be watered when it starts to feel dry. Water, then allow draining until it’s dry again.
Should I feed it?
You can feed with plant food once a month during the growing season - spring and summer. We sell our own vegan, organic plant food!
How big is it?
Is it suitable if I have pets?
No, unfortunately, it can be toxic to pets.
All our plants are supplied in a plastic nursery pot
