Phalaenopsis Orchids grow well indoors and have long-lasting flowers produced all year round. They are one of the most popular indoor orchids for a good reason. On each side of the stems is a row of flowers. This Phalaenopsis Orchid looks like it was flowering only yesterday in the jungles of Borneo. The wild shoots with uneven, small flowers give this orchid a back-to-nature character and make ideal gifts.

White Phalaenopsis Orchids, also known as moth orchids, are a popular and elegant flowering plant that belongs to the Orchidaceae family. These stunning orchids are native to tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia, such as the Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia.

In the wild, White Phalaenopsis Orchids grow as epiphytes, meaning they attach themselves to trees, rather than growing in soil. This unique characteristic allows them to absorb moisture and nutrients from the air and rainfall. They also have long-lasting blooms that can last for up to two to three months, making them a popular choice for houseplants.

White Phalaenopsis Orchids make fabulous houseplants due to their low maintenance requirements and stunning visual appeal. They prefer bright, indirect light and moderate humidity levels. They do not require frequent watering and thrive in well-draining potting soil. These orchids can bloom up to twice a year and produce long-lasting and show-stopping blooms in shades of white and cream.

When it comes to styling White Phalaenopsis Orchids, they are incredibly versatile and can fit into any decor style. They look stunning in a simple, minimalist pot or can be displayed in a decorative container to add a touch of elegance to any space. These orchids also make an excellent addition to any centrepiece or as a focal point in a room.

White Phalaenopsis Orchids are also a great gifting plant for any occasion. They are a symbol of love, luxury, and elegance, making them the perfect gift for anniversaries, weddings, and housewarmings. Additionally, due to their low maintenance requirements, they are an ideal gift for anyone who loves plants but may not have a green thumb.

Phalaenopsis Orchid care

Spray with water every 3 to 6 days, especially during the growing season or summer, and add some of our own tropical plant dew which includes fertiliser, ideally mixed for orchids.

Where should I put my Phalaenopsis Orchid?

Your Orchid needs to be in a bright spot with lots of natural light so that the flowers can keep opening - for the flowers to have the best colour the plant must be in a bright spot, but out of direct sunlight.

orchids don’t do well in strong direct light, it may burn the leaves, particularly during the summer.

Normal room temperature is perfect for orchids and with the right conditions, this plant will grow and thrive. Once flowers have dropped off, you can cut out the flower spike.

During the period in which the plant is not blooming, it invests its energy in the formation of leaves and roots getting ready for the next bloom.

How should I water my orchid?

Phalaenopsis orchids need to be watered twice a week during warm weather and the water needs to be of room temperature, 20-24 degrees Celsius.

The best way to water Orchids is to either submerge the orchid in water until roots are submerged overnight, they will then absorb the water.  It will store water in its roots to keep it going until the next watering.

You can also mist. Rainwater works best, but tap water that is left to stand for a day and warm-up can also be used.

How should I feed my Phalaenopsis Orchid?

Phalaenopsis do not need as much fertilizer as conventional plants, so we recommend fertilizing every two to three weeks in spring and summer and once a month in autumn and winter.
